Kristof has disgust a civil war that involves innoccent people being raped, killed, and kidnapped.This war has been going on for more than a decade and causing much destruction to Africa and its people. I support the sitution that Kristof his presented for numerous reasons.
I had heard on many occassions that the people in Haiti are "OUR PEOPLE" but aren't the people hurting in Africa our people too. There are people in the world who don't know about the war, but if the government in Rwanda and Congo and United nations really wanted to take more action can't they make everybody in the world more aware of the war. It's like when family members don't talk to each other but one side of the family is in trouble tell some of the people on the other side of the family but don't anybody else in the family. If more people were aware of the bad sitution in Congo we could keep this war from farthing.
Is this civil war going to have to get so bad before that people all around are going to have to intervene before wiping out a whole country happens? As people we let problems get so big that we don't deal with them until they too out of control. This is an issue that is bigger than any normal problem, what if we put ourselves in there place? There needs to be a bigger impact on how the world is helped. Countries can be helped in poverty, natural diasters, on going war, etc, nobody should have to live in fear because people are going around putting them in fear. Making people everywhere be aware of issues like this and taking stronger actions lets people in our world this is whats happening and we need to make moves towards preventing this.
In conclusion, I support that Congos issue needs more attention and moves need to be made now
